Leeds United and the 49ers will be doing everything possible this summer to avoid relegation.
The Leeds hierarchy are hoping that Daniel Farke can be the man for the job in terms of establishing the Whites in the Premier League.
With the German now staying after Paraag Marathe admired Farke’s belief, the two now have to work together in having a strong transfer window.
The signs are looking positive as Marathe hopes to spend £100m in what is a pledge he needs to achieve.
However, former manager Sam Allardyce has suggested that with the strategy in place that they must avoid repeating one thing in the top flight.
Sam Allardyce says Leeds United need to avoid repeating Ao Tanaka deals
The owners want to make Leeds the club to end the frustrating trend of newly promoted sides being relegated.
Despite relegated sides spending over £100m, this still wasn’t enough for them to retain their status.
This might suggest that although a lot needs to be spent, quality might have to be preferred over quantity.
Farke will want to try and emulate the success from this season, but what Allardyce has said about Ao Tanaka might suggest he can’t replicate the midfielder’s arrival in the Premier League.
“You can’t keep going out for those (Tanaka-type transfers), you can’t keep going out for the £4m (signings),” Allardyce said.
“If that’s the level that you want to achieve, somewhere along the line, Leeds are going to have to spend.
“These are where all the clubs previously have been relegated because they’ve spread the budget for maybe seven, eight, nine, 10 players, and they’re not good enough.”

Marathe has to avoid Farke strategy at Leeds
For the Championship, the signings this campaign have worked to a tee, and Tanaka has certainly been a bargain for his £3.4m fee.
But Allardyce knows the ins and outs of the top flight, and what it takes to remain in the league consistently.
Marathe wants Leeds in the top eight, but he might have to avoid the same strategy the club used last summer.
As mentioned, this worked to a tee this campaign, but after Marathe hinted at Farke’s heavy involvement in Leeds’ Premier League transfers, judging by Allardyce’s comments, he should look in a different direction.
There is still a plethora of areas needing improvement, but the 49ers might have to splash the cash on every section of the squad.
