All the dates you need to know about as Leeds United return to the Premier League.

Rejoice, Leeds United fans, as the Championship is now in the rear-view mirror and the Premier League awaits next season.

A gruelling Championship season was brought to an end in typically stressful style on May 3, with Daniel Farke’s side clinching the title ahead of rivals Burnley on goal difference.

Willy Gnonto’s leveller and Manor Solomon’s late, incredible winner earned the victory over Plymouth Argyle, and Leeds will be hoping it’s their last EFL fixture for a long, long time.

An exciting summer is in store as the Whites prepare for their return to the big time and here is every key date you need to know for the exciting season ahead.

When does the summer transfer window open?

The summer transfer window will look a little bit different this year, as it will actually open and close twice.

Clubs will briefly be able to complete transfers early between Sunday, June 1, to Tuesday, June 10, with the Premier League agreeing to an extra registration period ahead of the newly expanded Club World Cup.

All clubs will be able to sign players in this period, not just Manchester City and Chelsea, who are competing in the tournament.

Six days later, the transfer window will open properly on Monday, June 16, for the rest of the summer.

When is transfer deadline day?

Transfer deadline day for the summer 2025 window will come on Monday, September 1.

When are Premier League fixtures released?

Mark it in your calendars, Leeds fixtures for their Premier League season will be released at 9 am on Wednesday, June 18.

When is Leeds United’s pre-season tour?

Leeds are yet to announce when or where their pre-season tour will be but they have announced their first game of the summer.

The Whites will take on bitter rivals Manchester United in a not-so-friendly in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 19.

When does the 2025-26 Premier League season start?

It has been confirmed that the 2025-26 Premier League season will get underway on the weekend of Saturday, August 16, 2025.

There’s a strong possibility the opening game of the campaign will actually come the day before, on Friday, August 15, though.

International breaks

There will be four international breaks during the upcoming season. They will take place on the following dates:

Though Leeds currently don’t have any players that this would impact, the Africa Cup of Nations also takes place next season, from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

When does the Carabao Cup start?

The Carabao Cup begins with round one on the week commencing August 11, however, as they’re now in the Premier League, Leeds won’t enter the tournament until the second round.

When does the January transfer window open and close?

As usual, the transfer window will open again midway through the season on January 1, 2026. It’s not yet confirmed when the window will close, with 2025’s window staying open until February 3.

When does the FA Cup start?

The FA Cup begins early in the season with preliminary qualifying rounds but Leeds won’t enter the competition until the third round in the new year.

When does the Premier League finish?

The final day of the 2025-26 Premier League season will come on Sunday, May 24, 2026. That’s just two weeks before the 2026 World Cup gets underway in the USA.
