There’s been a lot of noise about Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United. For the time being at least, he looks set to stay.
Daniel Farke will remain in charge of Leeds United for next season. That’s the latest news coming out of Elland Road amid previous rumours and speculation that the 49ers were considering sacking the German following promotion to the Premier League.
The seemingly vast majority of fans are happy with the decision. But there’s a portion who reserve caution for the next season, given Farke’s Premier League record with Norwich City.
But the owners aren’t looking into that. Leeds United are ready to spend £100million this summer and Farke will have the final say on all players coming and leaving Elland Road in the summer transfer window.
Elsewhere, though, the 49ers have the small matter of finding a manager for Rangers to deal with.
Danny Rohl gives his verdict on Leeds United and Daniel Farke
Danny Rohl is reportedly leaving Sheffield Wednesday. The German has earned plaudits for his style of play with the Owls over the last season-and-a-half and already he’s being linked with the vacant Rangers job.
And speaking in an interview with German outlet Kicker, Rohl was speaking about his time at Hillsborough, about the Championship and about the Premier League, giving his verdict on Leeds United and also on his national compatriot Farke.
Rohl said: “I’m excited about Leeds, who, in my opinion, have been the best team this season. They have an incredible fan base. They also have a great German coach, whom I really like. And I hope they can break the barrier.”
Danny Rohl has a favourite player at Leeds United
Earlier in the season Leeds United beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Elland Road in a very one-sided game. And on the opening day of the season Leeds had beaten the Owls 2-0 at Hillsborough.
Goals came from Brenden Aaronson and Dan James in that 2-0 win. But the star of the show was Wilfried Gnonto. Rohl hailed Gnonto’s performance for Leeds United after the game, saying: “I think Gnonto played unbelievable today. He was the playmaker, he created always the overload in the middle of the centre. It was difficult.”
With Rohl clearly a fan of Leeds, he could yet raid Elland Road for some new recruits if he arrives at Rangers, with the 49ers connection bound to come in handy for both Leeds and Rangers at times down the line.
