Daniel Farke will have to convince key players at Leeds United to stick around for the Premier League and hope he doesn’t replicate one star’s fortunes.
Farke has built up a good rapport as having brilliant man-management skills and brings reason to why Paraag Marathe loves Farke’s belief.
The German has built up a squad willing to fight for the manager, and Leeds fans seem to share this same stance after promotion.
Of course, the Premier League will be a whole different ball game, and Farke will hope to keep morale intact by adjusting the squad.
Well, one name has admitted he came close to completely ending his career due to his change of love for football at Elland Road.
Rasmus Kristensen wanted to ‘quit football’ after Leeds United tenure
The main aim for Farke this summer is to strengthen the squad, but also keep big personalities in check.
With Manor Solomon weighing up his options, the winger being a familiar name in the dressing room would be the perfect choice to help keep the unity within the squad.
The Whites boss has to try and recruit players who will fit like a glove not only in his system, but also get along with fellow Leeds squad members.
Someone who didn’t quite do this was Rasmus Kristensen, who has since departed for Eintracht Frankfurt.
Although he’s proven to be a major success in Germany after a £7.7m move was confirmed, Kristensen came close to bringing an end to his football career at just 27.
Speaking after Frankfurt secured Champions League football for next season, beating Freiburg 3-1, the former Whites right-back was ready to leave the game behind whilst on loan from Leeds with Roma, with Farke no doubt playing his part back at his parent club.
“This is one of the greatest moments for me. It’s been a long journey to this success,” Kristensen said in a post-match interview.
“I wanted to quit football completely last season. I just didn’t feel like it anymore.”

Kristensen could’ve worked at Leeds going off Farke’s success
It didn’t come as a surprise that Kristensen wanted to leave Yorkshire after an underwhelming one season.
Although he planned on quitting when at Roma, it was Leeds that started his downfall, but it’s been some comeback.
His recent form has shown Kristensen has a knack for goalscoring, and he’s proven to be a pivotal outlet in Frankfurt’s success in gaining the key to the Champions League.
This shows that in another reality, the Leeds boss could’ve got the best out of Kristensen after Farke has produced success from his full-backs.
But it seems like the move has worked out for all parties concerned, and Farke won’t complain with the £7.7m added to Leeds’ £100m transfer kitty for next season.
