Saturday’s retained list will have worried Leeds United fans when it comes to the club’s position on Manor Solomon. The on-loan Tottenham man has been confirmed as returning to Spurs.
Solomon had a hand in 23 goals and assists for Leeds during the 2024-25 season, scoring the deciding goal for the Championship title as Leeds came from behind to beat Plymouth at the start of the month.
Since the title win, Solomon has returned to his home country, Israel, ahead of what will be an intriguing month regarding his future. Leeds firmly believe they will land the Spurs star on a permanent basis.
But it may not be as easy as that. Other clubs are said to be considering Solomon, even if Marseille’s interest in Solomon has been ruled out. Now, there is a surprise twist regarding his stance on Spurs.
Manor Solomon may be tempted by second Tottenham chance
According to a report from The Sun, Solomon is open to returning to Spurs and would take a second chance to prove himself under Ange Postecoglou. Having joined in 2023, injury came after just six games.
He didn’t really get a fair crack of the whip. At Leeds he has proven his fitness and that the knee injury was just a one-off and now The Sun say Solomon is confident of reintegrating himself at Tottenham.
A side that have been woeful in the Premier League, which could play into Solomon’s hands. However, if Spurs win the Europa League final then they will qualify for Europe’s elite competition come 2025-26.
How much Leeds have been told to pay for Manor Solomon…
Daniel Levy’s stance will be interesting. Known as a shrewd operator even if Spurs fans are not overly impressed with his running of the club, Levy will take into account the London club’s chance of profit.
Spurs signed Solomon on a free from Shakhtar Donetsk and it means that any fee received for the winger will be pure profit. It is believed Levy wants Leeds to pay between £15m and £20m to sign Solomon.
That will look good for Profit & Sustainability Rules at Spurs, and allow them to go out and spend more in the summer. Something which is drastically needed at Spurs, after such a dismal Premier League season.
