Report: Leeds United are now in talks to sign Bayern Munich player that Manor Solomon knows very well

The bank holiday weekend has not stopped the transfer mill from spitting out another player that is supposedly a target for Leeds United this summer, in the form of a Bayern Munich star.

The summer window has not even opened yet but Leeds are already being linked with a whole heap of players. Daniel Farke will need The 49ers to invest heavily and spend well over £100m to avoid relegation.

Leeds need a goalkeeper, a centre-back, a couple of left-backs, two midfielders, a no.10, Manor Solomon and a striker. Talks to sign winger Solomon permanently from Tottenham are said to have hit a brick wall.

But now, Leeds could end up doing a deal for one of his National Team pals. One that is currently on the books at Bayern Munich, with an Elland Road priority expected to be signing a goalkeeper this month.

Leeds United now in talks to sign Bayern Munich goalkeeper

A report from German newspaper Bild claims Leeds are one of a number of sides said to be in talks to sign Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz. Bayern bought Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023.

The Israel international kept an impressive 44 clean sheets in 103 games for Tel Aviv, but has only been used seven times by Bayern over the last two seasons. A summer exit then, seems inevitable for Peretz.

The BILD report that Peretz wants to become Bayern’s first-choice goalkeeper and understands a loan deal is required to show that. PSV Eindhoven are currently on pole, as they aim to replace Walter Benitez.

But the Dutch giants are not alone. Leeds and Burnley both want to sign Peretz with both promoted sides in need of a goalkeeper, while Italian outfit Genoa would also like to land Peretz on a season-long loan.

Manor Solomon knows Daniel Peretz very well already

Peretz has only won six caps for Israel, but is now considered first choice between the sticks for his country. He has started and finished the last four Israel fixtures, alongside Leeds favourite Solomon.

If Leeds do have a trump card in pursuit of Peretz, it is Solomon. A move to sign Solomon permanently will help Leeds get a deal done for Peretz and vice versa, Peretz will help tempt Solomon to sign on.

PSV have qualified for the Champions League and they will be tough competition to beat in the race for Peretz’s signature. But, the chance to play in the Premier League will surely be tough to turn down.
