Daniel Farke delivers Dan James and Junior Firpo injury updates as Leeds could be without six at Plymouth

Season Finale at Home Park

On Saturday, Leeds United will conclude their Championship campaign at Home Park against Plymouth Argyle. A sixth straight victory would secure the league title, and with Plymouth preparing to accommodate a trophy presentation, Leeds know the prize is within their grasp.

Title Scenarios

Leeds’ current winning streak stands at five matches. Should Daniel Farke’s side triumph again, they will lift the Championship trophy regardless of other results. If they draw or lose, matching Burnley’s outcome at Turf Moor against Millwall will suffice to retain first place on goal difference.

Plymouth, meanwhile, remain in danger of relegation. Although survival still lies in their hands, they would require an unlikely 14-goal swing combined with a victory to avoid dropping into League One.

Squad Fitness and Availability

Speaking after the 4-0 victory over Bristol City, Farke offered injury updates on several key players. Dan James and Junior Firpo are in a close contest to be available on Saturday.

Firpo has been sidelined with a light hamstring issue and has yet to fully resume training. James, who missed the Preston match due to a hamstring strain before making a subdued substitute appearance at Oxford United, showed slight improvement but did not take part in team drills on Monday.

“We will assess both tomorrow,” Farke explained. “If they can train, they will travel with us. It remains a tight call, but their importance means we’ll give them every chance.”

Other Injury Concerns

Farke also addressed the status of four additional absentees:

Pascal Struijk has been ruled out for the season after sustaining a foot injury against Luton Town. Sam Chambers likewise remains sidelined.

Isaac Schmidt continues to manage a persistent knee problem, making his involvement uncertain. In positive news, Joe Rothwell is back in light training and could be included in the matchday squad, though Farke doubts he will start or complete the full 90 minutes.

“If Joe gets through today and tomorrow’s sessions, he could join the bench. Isaac is still a doubt, but there’s a slim possibility,” Farke added.

Head-to-Head History

Leeds and Plymouth have met only five times since 2007—two league fixtures and three FA Cup clashes (including a replay)—with Leeds emerging victorious on four occasions.
