Leeds United are busy at work scouring the market for new additions to help build a squad capable of Premier League survival under Daniel Farke come May 2026.
The 49ers are well aware money will need to be spent. Paraag Marathe has said every penny possible will be spent, without breaking PSR. But Leeds can’t simply buy £30m players in every position this summer.
There will have to be a few loan deals and possibly, a couple of additions on free transfers. So here are the nine soon-to-be free agents linked with a move to Leeds already this summer, ahead of the window.
The nine free agents linked with Leeds United move this summer
Abdoulaye Doucoure
Everton have confirmed Doucoure will be leaving the club, but Doucoure wants a massive £160,000 a week. A wage far beyond what Leeds can afford, but The Whites are battling Roma for his signature.
Vladimir Coufal
Like Everton, West Ham have already confirmed that Coufal will leave the club this summer. Interestingly, Everton are rivalling Leeds for Coufal in what would be a reunion between David Moyes and the player.
Jamie Vardy
Leicester skipper Jamie Vardy is leaving after 13 years at The King Power and Leeds have been touted as a possible landing spot – but it all depends on what Vardy wants to do now. Simon Grayson backed a move.
Nelson Semedo
Portugal international Semedo was made captain of Wolves this season, but his contract has not been renewed. It is unclear if he will depart, but Leeds have been linked despite the form of Jayden Bogle.
Bright Osayi-Samuel
After a spell in Turkey, Osayi-Samuel is set to leave Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce. Crystal Palace are in pole position to land the Nigerian defender, but Leeds are also said to be interested in versatile Osayi-Samuel.
Ben Davies
Davies has been strongly linked with Leeds for a while. Despite helping win the Europa League title, Spurs do not look set to extend his contract and Leeds could add another Welshman to their ranks in Davies.
Grady Diangana
West Brom have confirmed that Diangana is leaving the club on a free transfer, with Diangana said to be waiting for Leeds to make a decision before he entertains interest from the MLS. But, it seems unlikely.
Kyle Walker-Peters
The England international has been relegated with Southampton and will certainly be on the move. Leeds are one of a number of clubs keen but the chances are that a West Ham or another, get Walker-Peters.
Callum Wilson
Leeds are interested in Wilson, who does have a clause in his Newcastle contract to extend his deal by a year. But, Newcastle are unlikely to do that. Wilson has commented on his future since Leeds were linked.
